Polyphenols in olive oil contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. Accordingly to Regulation 432/2012 of the European Union, indicated that a daily intake of 20 gr. of olive oil with at least 5 mg. of tyrosol derivatives and hydroxytyrosol per 20 gr. or 250 mg/kg ensures the beneficial effects that contribute to balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
